Holy Hive continue to prepare for their new self-titled record, following on from their debut album Float Back To You. Having already heard four singles from the album, including 'Color It Easy' and 'Ain't That The Way', Holy Hive seem to be taking a turn down a more folky path compared to the more soul-injected sound they began with. The newest single to arrive is 'Great Chains', opening with simple and satisfying acoustic guitar plucks. Embellished with a perfect harmony, Paul Springer's voice is as natural as someone breathing and the melody brings a sense of acceptance. With the drums and bass only ever serving the song, we are reminded of artists like Simon and Garfunkel - who favour brilliant songwriting over a need to be showy.
